8 thoughts that prevent you from finding your calling

1. “I do not know where to start”

This does not stop you from starting. If you feel inspired and intent to do something, you can always take the next step. The only thing that holds you back is your belief in something.

You can find excuses for a long time not to start something. You can be afraid, and this fear will never go anywhere, it will always be somewhere nearby. Just focus on getting started and drop all other thoughts.
2. “I have too many interests”

Most people have several hobbies, a lot of ideas and interests. The problem is in the very thought that you should choose one and the right one from them. Or even in the thought that you are able to make such a choice.

Your task is not to predict the future or ensure that everything goes well. Your task is to test the idea that attracts you and see what happens. Look at yourself as an experimenter.
3. "I am not fit for this"

With this thought you persuade yourself. But thought is not a fact. If you think that you are not ready yet, this is not an objective assessment, but only your feeling.

The same applies to thoughts that you have nothing to offer the world. This is not important - but what attracts you. If you are tempted to write, write. If you draw, draw. You are not a world-class specialist, but this is the reason to start. How do you learn if you don't start?
4. “What will people think?”

If you care what others think, then you believe that your feelings and the general course of your life should be aimed at delighting other people. But the more you follow the call of the heart, the more confident you are in yourself, the more people will respect what you do.

Ultimately, making people happy is not your duty. Our happiness is determined not by circumstances, but by our thoughts. And this does not mean that thoughts are necessarily tightly controlled. Just take them not so seriously.
5. "And if I choose something wrong?"

Wrong choice? So what? Maybe this is exactly what should happen to you on the way to where you should end up.

Are you starting to notice how many false settings you have? This is normal. We want to control the whole process, although in reality we have little control. Life flows like a river. We do not control its movement, but only feel it, ride on it.

Your experience is determined by your thinking. There is no need to control your thoughts - just watch how your idea of the world arises.

6. "And if all this is in vain?"

What if you waste your time following your passion? Impossible. After all, ultimately you want to be happy, right? And when you do what you love and follow your intuition, you experience joy, peace, tranquility. Can this be a waste of time?

You waste time only when you think hard about the idea that you are wasting time. Believing in this, you keep yourself from exploring the world.
7. “Finding a calling should be easy”

It is easy to believe that we should be guaranteed a life without problems, but this does not happen. In life, it is hot and cold, and black, and white. It is possible to arrange a philosophical discussion on this subject. But most importantly, you are constantly evolving and changing.

Therefore, sometimes you will have difficulties. Life will be complicated. Sometimes even painful.

And this is not a problem. The problem is to think what should be different. Finding a vocation is not easy, although it does not have to be difficult.

But it will be difficult if you try to understand everything in advance or control the process. But it will be easier if you do not get in your way and allow your inner wisdom to guide you. You don’t need to know what your calling is to follow your instincts, your interests and your wisdom. And still act gradually, step by step.
8. “I have no time”

The search for a calling does not at all require quitting a job, parting with a family, or doing something else radical. This is just another idea of yours how everything should be. In fact, even if you have only 5 free minutes a day, you can spend them on finding your real passion. Time is not a question. Rather, this is an artificially invented question.
How to live your vocation

In fact, we all already know where to move, what to do, what is our passion. We simply complicate our path, trying to understand everything in advance. And this is impossible. Attempts to understand interfere with understanding. We complicate things ourselves.

Today - during the day - try to notice those assumptions and thoughts that do not allow you to do what you love and realize your interests. Do not worry about control. Just try to feel what is happening. And enjoy it. Do what you can, relying on what you have. It's enough.
